General Questions
Is ReelGrab free to use?
Yes, ReelGrab is 100% free. You can download as many videos as you want with no hidden costs, subscriptions, or premium tiers.
Do I need to create an account or log in?
No account is required. ReelGrab works without any sign-up or login — just paste a URL and download. We don't ask for your social media credentials either.
Do I need to install any software or browser extension?
No installation is required. ReelGrab runs entirely in your web browser. It works on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on both desktop and mobile devices.
What platforms does ReelGrab support?
ReelGrab currently supports Instagram (Reels, videos, carousels), TikTok, and Facebook (videos, Reels, Watch, Live replays). More platforms may be added in the future.
Is ReelGrab safe to use?
Yes. ReelGrab does not store your personal information, does not request your social media passwords, and does not save any videos to our servers. Your activity is private.
Downloading Videos
What video quality is available?
ReelGrab fetches the highest quality version available from the source platform, which is typically 1080p HD for modern content. The quality available depends on what the original creator uploaded.
Can I download videos without a watermark?
Yes. For TikTok especially, ReelGrab retrieves the original source file which does not carry TikTok's username watermark. Instagram and Facebook videos are downloaded as-is from their servers.
Can I extract audio only (MP3) from a video?
Yes. Before clicking Grab It, switch the download mode to Audio. ReelGrab will extract the audio track from the video and provide an MP3 download instead of the full video file.
Can I download videos from private accounts?
No. ReelGrab can only access publicly available content. Videos on private Instagram accounts, private Facebook profiles, or private TikTok accounts cannot be downloaded because they are not publicly accessible.
Is there a limit on how many videos I can download?
There is no daily or monthly download limit. You can use ReelGrab as many times as you need, completely free.
Can I download Instagram carousel posts with multiple videos?
Yes. Paste the carousel post URL and ReelGrab will extract all video items from the carousel so you can download each one individually.
Troubleshooting
Why is my download failing or showing an error?
The most common causes are: (1) the account is private, (2) the video has been deleted by the creator, (3) the URL was copied incorrectly. Try copying the link again using the platform's official Share → Copy Link option and try again.
The download started but the file won't play — what's wrong?
This can happen if the download was interrupted. Try downloading again. Make sure you have enough storage space on your device. If the issue persists, try using a different browser.
Why does the video quality look lower than expected?
ReelGrab provides the highest quality available from the platform's servers. If the original video was uploaded in low resolution, that is the maximum quality available. ReelGrab does not upscale or compress videos.
The tool says 'Unable to fetch video' — what should I do?
Double-check that the URL is correct and the content is still publicly accessible. Some videos may also be geo-restricted or temporarily unavailable. Wait a few minutes and try again.
Legal & Privacy
Is it legal to download videos from social media?
Downloading videos for personal, offline use is generally considered fair use in most jurisdictions. However, you must not re-upload, sell, or distribute downloaded content without the original creator's explicit permission. Always respect copyright.
Does ReelGrab store or share my data?
No. ReelGrab does not store the URLs you submit, the videos you download, or any personal information. We do not share data with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
